Do you have to wait – or were you refused?
A long wait or a "we can't help with that" must never be the end. You may call somewhere else in the meantime – several places, too. No booking needed here: Danner 33 33 00 47 · Lev Uden Vold 1888 · FrejaCentret 42 22 43 25 · Offerrådgivningen 116 006 · Livslinien 70 201 201.
If you are refused – e.g. because your case is "too complex": ask why, and where they send you instead. Ask for the answer in writing. You can bring a support person (Danske Patienter has free volunteers, 33 41 47 57). The patient office in your region helps for free: Central 78 41 04 44 · South 76 63 14 90 · North 97 64 80 10 · Zealand 70 15 50 01. The complaint helper writes the letter for you.
Find a doctor
GP practices are not on the map. On sundhed.dk ("Find behandler") you can see which GPs take new patients. You can change GP on borger.dk (DKK 40 in 2026). Your GP may only drop you in special cases, and the region must approve it – see your rights at the GP and find the right psychologist.

Same-day help: food, clothes, money and small jobs

Bad experiences with the municipality or psychiatry? You are not alone – and you can still get help. Many places are run by volunteers or by people who have been there themselves: LAP (community of current and former psychiatric service users), AA and NA, Landsforeningen Spor, Joan-Søstrene, AmiAmi, warm rooms and small drop-ins. On the map they are tagged Run by users themselves. Write e.g. "not the municipality" on Ask to hide public services.

Do you sell sex, were you lured or pressured into work, or does someone else control your passport, your money or where you live? You can get free help – also if you are not a Danish citizen. These organisations are independent NGOs, except Center mod Menneskehandel, which is the state's.
